Albi, a large city, is about a two-hour drive through farmland from Roquefort. With its cathedral dominating the entire city, Albi, mostly built of brick, is also referred to as “Albi the red.”

The city of Albi was chosen to be part of the Unesco world heritage sites. Definitely worth a visit are the St. Salvy Cloister and church, the Toulouse Lautrec museum, The St Cecile cathedral, the historical center and the banks of the river.

Albi is called the pink city for obvious reasons, the stone glows in the sunlight. It has the largest Cathedral with the most stunning painted interior. The pretty streets are lined with lovely shops and boutiques and all manner of local food delicacies can be found. A wide range of restaurants are available to sample. There is a market on Saturdays, a true feast for the eyes and tum! Albi is a lovely place to visit at any time of the year.
