San Diego offers a wealth of attractions both in the city itself and the nearby towns that make up San Diego County. The San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park is the cities most famous attraction. From the zoo its just a short stroll through the Spanish Village Art Center to the El Prado, a promenade lined with Spanish style buildings. Here you find the San Diego Museum of Man, the San Diego Museum of Art, the San Diego Air & Space Museum, the Museum of Photographic Arts, the Natural History Museum, the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, and the Timken Museum of Art. Head for the waterfront and a grand day out visiting the USS Midway , the old boats of the Maritime Museum and Seaport Village. Hop aboard a ferry to Coronado island which gives you the opportunity for picture postcard shots of the San Diego skyline. The Gaslamp Quarter with its restaurants and clubs is liveliest at night. Shopping opportunities abound at the stylish Horton Plaza. Take a tram to visit picturesque Old Town. Immerse yourself in the laid back lifestyle of Mission Beach and the adjacent Pacific Beach communities or head further north to the upmarket beach community of La Jolla. A good day out for the family is the aim of Legoland, Sea World and the Wild Animal Park.
