Saint Veit is known as the medieval capital of Carinthia. As you approach the town you will notice the ruins of many medieval castles that at one time guarded this strategic route to Vienna On the outskirts of town you will see Burg Hochosterwitz, a fascinating castle dominating the top of a miniature mountain.
