Home to the peace loving Quakers, Chadds Ford, was the site of one of the largest Revolutionary War battles where, in 1777, 29,000 British and Revolutionary troops faced-off. The battle is best remembered as the Battle of Brandywine. Today, Chadds Ford is best known as the home of the Brandywine River Museum which is home to three generations of the artworks of the Wyeth Family.
