Chiddingstone

Recenter Map To This Location

Chiddingstone, a National Trust village, whose short main street has several 16th- and 17th-century, half-timbered houses, a church, and a teashop. Park by the old houses and follow a footpath behind the cottages to the Chiding Stone, from which the village gets its name: nagging wives were brought here to be chided by the villagers.
