San Francisco and the coast are often foggy during June, July, and August. The farther south you go, the earlier in the day the fog burns off. The northern California coast is cool and rainy during the winter. Many a visitor has rented a convertible in the sunshine of the airport raise the top when they reach San Francisco and the coast. Remember to bring a sweater or jacket even for summer visits.
