. Calatayud is built up against a hillside, crowned by the minaret of an old mosque and the ruins of the Moorish Kalat-Ayub (Castle of Ayub). You might want to stop for a closer inspection of the Mudéjar tower sitting impressively atop its rocky ridge above the hillside covered with tiny houses. You can see the castle on the mountain well before you reach the town, but it blends in so well with the stone ridge that you may not notice unless you are watching for it.
