My wife and I recently satyed at the Garden Gables Inn in the heart of Lenox Village while we were in town to go to the Lenox Apple Squeeze, which is one of our favorite annual events. My wife and I recently satyed at the Garden Gables Inn in the heart of Lenox Village while we were in town to go to the Lenox Apple Squeeze, which is one of our favorite annual events. The GG is set off the main road down a winding drive in a lovely garden setting, as the name implies. The Inn itself is in an exceptional example of a 19th. century country "cottage" and is flanked by a neat row of connected out cottages, which is where we stayed. Room 17 had a nice four poster bed, comfortable chairs, a kitchenette, a good sized bathroom and a cozy wood fireplace which really added to the ambiance of the room. The staff was very accomadating and friendly and the breakfast was expansive and delicious. We particularly liked the ever-available homemade chocolate-chip cookies and the Port set out in the reading room. The Inn is connected with Hilltop Orchard and Furnacebrook winery so we also took advantage of the complimentarty wine tasting for guests at the Winery in their lively barrel room and walked the orchard while picking our own apples. The Garden Gables, paired with the orchard/winery really provided us with a complete Bershires experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing a relaxing, romantic weekend.
