Villa Tron Mioni

We've received no warmer welcome anywhere in Italy than at Villa Tron Mioni. Sandro and Gabriella are gracious and well travelled hosts with impeccable English. Sandro a retired engineer, and Gabrielle a retired teacher. They are both natives of this area (Gabiella's family home is a few hundred metres along the road!) Villa Tron is the Mioni family home of some generations, and set in sensation private gardens, and a short bus ride into central Venice. The bus stops just along the road from Villa Tron and Gabrielle has the tickets. The home is full of family history, beautiful furnishings, and has a special warmth which Sandro and Gabriella bring to your stay. Breakfast is served in the kitchen (local vegetables, honey and jams from the garden produce at Villa Tron), and is a social affair with Sando and Gabriella offering rich local knowledge, and of course a complete history of the Mioni family. We met Gabriella's sister and brother - they dropped in and it was a quite a family affair... We stayed in a room on the first floor (1 level above ground) with views over the river, and ensuite bathroom. A well appointed and very comfortable room. Sando has Wi-Fi (free of course as it should be), maps and local tourism information, and is happy to make reservations at local restaurants. Over many years of travelling in Europe, we have developed a distinct preference for staying in situations such as the Mioni's offer. Wonderful surroundings, rich interaction with the hosts (and owners usually), local knowledge, and warm, friendly welcome. I would unreservedly recommend a stay at Villa Tron, and we will most definitely be back soon for a few days to explore more of the region and Venice, but more importantly to spend some more time with Sandro and Gabriella - and her family!
