Karen's Review Of
Villa Clodia:
Villa Clodia:
Saturnia’s thermal waters have been gushing from an underground volcano for over 2,000 years, yet only recently have it and the enchanting surrounding Maremma area become internationally famous, leading to new accommodations springing up. One such is the charming Villa Clodia, once home to nobility, now run by former restaurateur Giancarlo Ghezzi. The villa is a curiosity, seemingly built out of the limestone rock, one side overlooking the street and the other an expansive valley of grapevines and olive trees. Because of its unusual proportions, each room is unique in size and decor. A small winding stairway takes guests up or down to rooms, some of which have been literally carved out of the rock. All bedrooms feature scattered antiques, new bathrooms, and valley views, and a fortunate few boast a terrace. Amenities include air conditioning, TVs, and mini-bars. Breakfast is offered in a sweet, luminous room next to the sitting room. A lush rose garden and fruit orchard surround the inviting star-shaped pool. Advance reservations are a must and weekly stays preferred.

Romantic Tuscany
Villa Clodia in Saturnia, Italy was wonderful. The setting, the kind and helpful owners, the elaborate breakfast, everything was perfect. You are missing a key element in your writeup on this hotel. The best natural hot springs in probably the world are here and free. Two 10’ waterfalls of 98 degree thermal water land into pools that cascade down the hillside. We stayed for 8 hours and never had lunch.
