Karen's Review Of
Villa Sant’Andrea:
Villa Sant’Andrea:
The Villa Sant’Andrea is a prestigious wine estate on a hilltop dominating the Pesa valley in the Chianti region of Tuscany. An impressive villa and church are its focal points. So spectacular and strategic is the location that it has been occupied since Roman times. The vast property (over 1,300 acres!) spills down the vineyard-covered terrain to the horizon and includes three typical Tuscan farmhouses, (Zobi, Perticato and Montelodoli) that can be rented weekly or daily, each with its own private swimming pool. Luckily, for those desiring accommodation with breakfast, six quaint country style rooms are also available. Situated within the hamlet and across from the proprietors’ gated historic villa, they are hidden by centuries-old cypresses and a lush garden. Wrought iron beds adorned with checked bedspreads and country antiques are authentically Tuscan. Superb views are to be enjoyed from each window. Two common rooms with large open fireplaces are reserved for guests for breakfast or simply lounging. For the more active, mountain bikes are available as well as hiking trails into the scenic countryside, through olive groves, vineyards and oak trees. The office is open for check in from 3pm to 6pm. The marvels of Tuscany are at your doorstep (Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, and everything in between).
