The charming medieval Etruscan town of Cortona that gained international fame through Frances Mayes’ bestseller, “Under the Tuscan Sun”, has subsequently responded to the increased demand for tourist accommodation. The Mancini family decided to completely refurbish their lovely old farm (a village in itself on the site of an Etruscan settlement) to accommodate a variety of needs for the more demanding traveler. The 17th-century private home sits in the middle of its meticulously landscaped gardens boasting 2,500 rose plants and surrounded by ten other stone houses which are now home to the comfortable hotel with 12 double rooms. Featuring a breakfast room, eight spacious apartments with two and three-bedrooms were part of the former olive oil mill and farmer’s quarters. There is also an excellent restaurants a stunning swimming pool with hydro-massage, and the Orangerie for wedding reception and special events.
