Podere Patrignone

Hi there! We stayed at Podere Patrignone for the first time in 2007, and went back again in June last year. In 2007 we stayed in two rooms in the B&B, last year we took on of the adjoining apartments, Il Caminetto. Both were beautifully laid out, tastefully decorated, and very Tuscan! Patrignone is in a very quiet rural location on top of a hill, with panoramic 360 degree views and no local traffic whatsoever. The rather rough road to Patrignone ends there, and the nearest neighbours are on adjacent hills in the distance. Very quiet spot. At this time of the year all the surrounding olive fields were filled with wild flowers. Really beautiful. Patrignone is an old farm-house with additional buildings that have been converted into self-catering apartments and an up-market B&B. In 2007 we stayed in the 'Blue Room' in the main Villa Patrignone which had a cute bathroom with sunset views. The room was warm and cosy, nicely decorated, crowded with antiques (too many maybe?), extremely clean, with fantastic bed linen! We were very comfortable, especially as we had our baby in the next room (equally lovely, totally wasted on the baby) in a nice cot provided by the owners. Last year we took Caminetto because we had two young kids and didn't want to drive other guests mad. Simon & Verity we very helpful and provided us with everything we needed: 2 cots, a high-chair, a baby bath, and even a few of Sam's toys (their toddler). The owners live on site and were very helpful. They cooked a couple of great meals for us while we were there and were very generous with the Chianti! Always around to help out but otherwise left us to our own devices. There's a nice pool with terrace and a separate terracotta terrace where you can eat meals if you like. Both of these have great views of the spectacular light-show Patrignone enjoys at every sunset, the sun setting over the Apennine Mountains in the distance. We had a lovely memorable time and are delighted to recommend it.
