Villa Arabella

If you're looking for a relaxing and gastronomic stay this is the place! Under 1 hour from Milan, Villa Arabella is a haven of peace nestled amongst the vineyards with spectacular views of the rolling hills and the vines. I was delighted to discover Mornico Losana for its quietness, relaxation and tranquility. I loved the walks in the rolling hills and can understand why this area is called 'Little Tuscany'. After a day of activity, how better to spend an afternoon than lying by the pool, book & drink in hand, with a homemade dinner to look forward to! On Sundays, the local market is a feast for your senses - have an 'aperitivo' at the local bar during happy hour which includes a wide selection of the local specialties for free! The Oltrepo is also known for its wines - we visited a few local vineyards which the owners recommended and organised a winetasting tour. We also enjoyed visiting the area - close by, just outside Pavia, we visited Certosa, a magnificent Charterhouse. Pavia is a lovely old town dating from Roman times. A must is a daytrip to Portofino - breathtaking views en route. At Villa Arabella they speak English, and Arabella's homemade jams are delicious! The B&B is warm and welcoming, tastefully furnished - a home from home. We'll be back!
