Tenuta di Santa Lucia

The Tenuta di Santa Lucia is an agricultural property of nearly 300 acres made up of oak woods, hazelnut orchards, fields of grain, grazing pastures for cows and olive groves. Generations of the Trua family have resided here, near the ancient city of Viterbo for more than 200 years. The current generation, Antonio and Bettina, welcomes guests in the main villa, originally a silk production factory. The six country-style bedrooms, some with exposed brick walls, are furnished with family heirlooms and are provided with smart new bathrooms, air conditioning and Internet connection. Guests often gather in the main living area with its sofas and high-beamed ceilings. Highly praised meals in the dining room restaurant (which is open only on weekends until summer months) are based on the organic products produced by the farm, including wines and olive oil. An elongated swimming pool and whirlpool awaits guests after a day of touring in this culturally rich area. Besides Viterbo with its thermal spas, there are the Renaissance gardens of Villa Lante, Bomarzo park, the Etruscan cities of Tuscania and Tarquinia, and fascinating Civita Bagnoregio.
