With the success of her Venice B&B, La Villeggiatura, within this guide, owner and hostess, Francesca Adilardi just recently opened a similar accommodation in her native city of Rome.  She cleverly renovated the already-existing B&B on the fourth floor of a 19th-century residential building across from the Opera House, creating a fresh, whimsical and colorful ambience in the five comfortable guestrooms.  The stylish rooms with a mix of oriental fabrics, matching painted furniture, bright contrasting walls, color-coordinated bathrooms, and the many amenities, take it to a superior level in the category.  The small reception area includes a self-service breakfast area with glass tables and painted garden scenes on walls.  Coffee, tea, fresh crescent rolls and a stocked refrigerator of breakfast fixings and refreshments are available to guests.  Personal attention is part of the service, including a variety of tourist information, museum ticket reservations, and transfers from airport.  The Imperial is conveniently located between the main Termini station and the characteristic Monti area near the Forum with an abundance of local shops and restaurants to explore.  Two blocks away is a treasure of a museum, Palazzo Massimo alle Terme, where a combination of selected Roman sculpture, ancient coins, and mounted mosaic floors from emperor’s villas are displayed. Also not to be missed is the Trajan Market open air museum with spectacular Forum views.
