I would like to give my personal opinion about Casa Cosenza because I’m spending my holidays in Positano since a long time and especially in that B&B. I’ve always had an excellent impression about the Residence: the hospitality and the welcome were always on the top (a special thank you to José who is always there for helping us). I would like to give my personal opinion about Casa Cosenza because I’m spending my holidays in Positano since a long time and especially in that B&B. I’ve always had an excellent impression about the Residence: the hospitality and the welcome were always on the top (a special thank you to José who is always there for helping us). Not a time there was something wrong with my room, everything was clean and impeccable.

Actually, the view is fantastic, the staff is always professional, but at the same time lovely, and the atmosphere is definitely romantic.
I would recommend to everyone the Residence Casa Cosenza.

My wife and I have always used your guide books for more than 30 years for almost every country in Europe and for California. 90% of the time we are either satisfied or very satisfied with your recommendation in relation to the overall value of the accommodations. What is particularly important to us is the attitude and hospitality of the owners. We would normally overlook minor inconveniences because they can happen at 5 star hotels also.

We followed your suggestion of driving to the "Brothers" parking lot. They wanted about $30.00 to park the car overnight which I thought was excessive but we agreed. My wife has 2 bad knees [replaced with steel pins making it difficult to walk and worse to use stairs]. We asked the parking lot guy to please call the Hotel and send someone to help with our 2 small suitcases. He called and someone eventually showed up and brought the suitcases down the street and down the stairs to the hotel.

When we arrived at the front desk and told the woman/owner who we were she carried on for almost 10 minutes that she never received our confirmation even though I showed her a copy of my e-mail which did not come back to me. She said she only had one room left, which wasn’t true because we were the only guests that we saw or heard that afternoon, night, or the next morning.

Then the guy that carried our bags demanded $12.00 for carrying the bags. We asked the woman about it and she said " we have no one to carry bags so she had a private "service" do it". The guy at the parking lot didn’t tell us and frankly it was just salt on the wound.

On top of that she told us we were getting a special rate for the room which I showed her was exactly the same as the rate she confirmed to me. She also told us that she wanted cash only even though her e-mail said "Normally payment by credit card and cash are welcome" [and her listing in your book doesn’t say no credit cards]. Then she said that she wants cash when someone only stays one night. Again, I showed her that her e-mail clearly acknowledged that we were arriving on March 25 and departing March 26.

Then she told us that breakfast was 10 Euro additional per person and I told her we were not interested.

The room was very small, the bathroom was dirty and the water from the tiny shower was not contained and spilled into the rest of the bathroom. There also was a large hole in the wall of the bathroom to the outside which allowed a bunch of bugs to join us.

The next morning her husband or boyfriend or brother was at the front desk with her and when asked about the 2 suitcases [they now had to be carried up the long staircase] he refused to help with even one of them. 

Casa Cosenza in Positano was a totally bad experience. [except for Positano itself which is visually quite beautiful].

I told her I was recommended by your book but I don’t think she cared. If this is her normal method of treating her guests I don’t think she deserves to be recommended by you.

Dear Sirs,

Casa Cosenza is one of the first B & B in Positano with a long experience in tourism and hospitality and above all cleanliness and courtesy.

Mr. XXXXXX has made a simple request for information about its likely stay at Casa Cosenza as all our customers generally do and he has not made any reservation of the room.

He arrived in Positano without confirmation because there was no confirmation.

There are some inaccuracies in his account because worldwide you pay extra services such as parking, porter service, etc.. and he paid € 18 for parking and € 7 for the porter.

We could not know that his wife had problems with knee implants as Positano is known throughout the world as one village full of stairs. And then incorrect about cleaning his room because one of our strengths is cleanliness and the rooms do not have holes to let in insects go inside.

We regret that Mr XXXXXXX has found all these problems maybe caused by his negligence for failing to book a room and for his other problems.
