Greenmount House

Mary and John Curran are locals who built Greenmount House as a home for themselves and their small children then later cleverly expanded their bungalow adding a large sitting room, additional family accommodation, and large top-of-the-line guestrooms. Seven face the harbor and six have either French windows opening onto a patio or balcony (chairs provided for sitting out) and are large enough to accommodate a spacious sitting area—the kind of rooms you want to spend time in. Drift into the view in room 6 (Garran) whose bed and sofa face a breathtaking vista of Connor Pass soaring above the fields. A conservatory breakfast room, prettily furnished with painted pine furniture, has a panoramic view across fields and Dingle’s rooftops to the harbor. Mary prepares the most bountiful of breakfasts and tries to offer at least two fruit dishes, delicious mueslis, and yogurts, as well as a cooked breakfast menu that includes not only the traditional breakfast but also fish and mushrooms in yogurt sauce. Breakfast is the only meal served. For dinner stroll down the hill into town where there are some particularly fine fish restaurants. Wander down to the harbor and watch the catch come in, window shop, and enjoy a pint in one of the many pubs.
