With The Burren sheltering its back and a panoramic view of Ballyvaughan Bay to the towering cliffs of Black Head in front, Drumcreehy House commands an location just outside the picturesque village of Ballyvaughan. Bernadette and Armin designed this house to look as old as possible while including all modern amenities. To add to the traditional feel, they have furnished the sitting room and dining room with antiques, and all the bedrooms with old pine. Spring Gentian and Dog Violet are especially spacious with larger shower rooms, and along with Cowslip and Primrose enjoy spectacular views across the bay to Black Head. If you are not up to stairs request a room in the adjacent two bedroom cottage—perfect for families. Coffee, tea and an honesty bar are available in a cozy little room off the sitting room. Enjoy a cooked breakfast in the sunny yellow breakfast room where a vast sidebarard laden with fruit, cereal, cheeses, smoked salmon and meats caused me to cancel my cooked breakfast. Shannon is an hour’s drive away, making this an ideal first or last night on your trip, but stay longer and explore the beautiful Burren and beyond.
