La Réserve

It was a wonderful adventure to land in Paris CDG from Miami take the metro into the city to figure out the train to Vernon. Even more adventurous to figure out how to get from the train station in Giverny to the La Reserve, but well worth all of it!!
We arrived mid day so the welcome was unexpected but went right up to our room which was more than generous and very charming.

The owner was more than helpful, but to be sure the only thing to do and see is the little town of Givern...

We arrived mid day so the welcome was unexpected but went right up to our room which was more than generous and very charming.

The owner was more than helpful, but to be sure the only thing to do and see is the little town of Giverny and Monet’s wonderful gardens.

We used this as our jet lag days and we stayed two nights should have been three but could not spare the time. It was really really heavenly and the breakfast was everything you could want. The very best thing and really why I am writing this review is the owner sells this amazing honey, as you can imagine the thought of lugging it back to South Florida ....yuk but now I think another trip we will soon have to take just to retrieve more honey!!

If you can only imagine those fabulous flowers at Giverny and all the bees needed to keep it so beautiful, I think they must fly the few miles to bed somewhere on the property of La Reserve.

By all means stay at La Reserve but do not leave there with out the Honey!!! When you get home you will be wishing you had more.

Our stay at La Reserve was perfect. It was our first stop on a three week trip and it ranks as one of the top two accommodations of our entire journey. We were welcomed warmly by Valerie, treated with friendliness and generosity throughout our stay and sent off with feeling a rosy glow from the large and comfortable room (the ’blue’), beautiful springtime views of the pasture and cows, superb breakfasts in a gorgeous room and convenient access to Giverny and other interesting destinations in the vicinity. Valerie’s breakfasts deserve special mention for their scope, quality and beautiful presentation. In addition to homemade preserves, gourmet yogurts, cheeses and coffee, she went daily to her favorite boulangerie in Vernon (not exactly next door) to insure truly outstanding croissants, rolls and bread. Her children and even the family dog reflect Valerie’s charm, warmth and good manners. We would rebook there without hesitation. (We are retired seniors who have traveled extensively.)
