Les Tuillières is a rare find. This gem of a 17th-century stone farmhouse has everything—superb hosts with boundless warmth of welcome, lovely flower gardens, spacious bedrooms, appealing decor, a gorgeous setting, large swimming pool, and delicious meals served with produce straight from the garden. With Les Tuillières being located a bit off the beaten path, a stay here affords an introduction to a breathtakingly beautiful niche of northern Provence. Although within easy reach of Avignon, Montélimar, and Orange, this is a sunny, quiet area of lavender, sunflowers, vineyards, and sleepy villages. From the moment you walk into Les Tuillières’ courtyard, your heart will be won. Ivy laces the honey-toned stone home with its white trim and green shutters, roses and geraniums add a dash of color, while lavender scents the air. Hermann Jenny (who is Swiss) was formerly a top executive in hotel management, so knowing how to please guests is second nature to him. Susan (who is American) has a natural gift of hospitality and pampers her guests like cherished friends. Hermann is your superb chef and on most days dinner is served under the stars in the romantic garden.

We stayed at Les Tuillieres last month based on a recommendation on www.karenbrown.com . Our only regret was that we had only one night to spare on our itinerary. It is the most wonderful setting, beautiful house, beautiful gardens, beautiful countryside and wonderful food. We were made so welcome on our arrival, we sat in the shade and had a glass of wine and a chat with Hermann. It was as relaxing and comfortable as one could ever imagine. We spent an enjoyable 1 night stay with Susan and Hermann in their quiet and seductive farm house. This was our return visit and we were not disappointed. The welcome and attention to our comfort and enjoyment was excellent and we were sad to leave. The dinner was delicious. We will look forward to returning in the near future.
