Le Mas Azemar

The Patrolins were pioneers in the French bed and breakfast field and over the years have truly professionalized the art of making guests welcome and comfortable. Located just outside Cahors in the beautiful Lot Valley, Le Mas Azemar looks up to the majestic Château de Mercuès. The decor in this lovely two-story, 18th-century country house is pretty, with soft, warm colors differentiating the various rooms—the entry is a soft cream, the hallway a soft pink with blue trim, the dining room a lovely yellow with a complementary yellow-and-white-striped wallpaper, the library a pretty blue, and the doors and exposed beams are stained in a light gray. The entry leads to the summer dining room, which opens onto a lovely living room leading to the back gardens and pool. The winter dining room, its beams hung with dried-flower arrangements, is very appealing, with a long table set in front of an old water trough on one side and a large open fireplace on the other. We were able to see only a few bedrooms but they were all lovely and while they varied in size, they were all comfortable in appointments and amenities.
