La Barthe Tables D’Hotes

La Barthe nestles in a hamlet on a slope overlooking the Tarn valley. The renovated farmhouse, about 150 years old, is of local stone with traditional shutters at the windows. Michele and Michael's welcome is warm and friendly and drinks on the terrace are offered on arrival. The view is breathtaking. The nearby farm produces milk from its pampered sheep for the famous Roquefort cheese. In the garden is a pool for cooling off in the heat of the day. The vegetable garden, tended by Michael, supplies fare for the evening meals. Dinner with your hosts is excellent, the food home-cooked by Michele, who has a repertoire of superb dishes, and the local wine poured by Michael! In this tranquil environment you will sleep well in your comfortable bedroom. In the morning feast on Michele's home-made bread and cakes, local honey and of course home-made jams. They are both fluent in French and proud of the area they have adopted. There are vast possibilities for sightseeing - Albi with its red brick cathedral and Toulouse Lautrec museum, Millau with the bridge spanning the valley, Ambialet built on an oxbow formed by the river Tarn - your hosts will be delighted to advise you on walking, cycling or motoring routes.
