Manoir de Crépon

A lovely stone manor house surrounded by lawn and embraced by its own stone walls, sitting in the quiet village of Crépon just minutes from the coast and D-Day beaches, the Manoir de Crépon has achieved Gîtes de France’s highest rating. These merits are in themselves impressive, but when I met the owner, Mme Poisson, I was reminded of what is most important—genuine warmth of welcome. Though we arrived on her doorstep at a busy time, we were welcomed with a warm, sincere smile and no hint of inconvenience. She loves her home and sharing it with her guests. Bedrooms, all with garden and lawn views, are found upstairs off a grand hallway. One guestroom suite boasts a lovely bedroom and a small side room with a dear twin iron bed (perfect for a child) and gorgeous tiled basin. At the other end of the hall, a bedroom with double bed and a lovely corner back room with two double beds share a bath. There are in addition two standard double rooms, one with a decor of lime green and a bird print, and my favorite, a lovely twin-bedded (or king) room decorated in reds and creams. On the entry level there are two salons and an inviting kitchen where guests settle in the mornings at a long trestle table in front of a magnificent fireplace (lit in winters) to enjoy a hearty breakfast.
