La Mozardière:
La Mozardière is a charming, 18th-century farmhouse with an idyllic setting on the outskirts of Legé, offering total tranquility, yet only 39 kilometers south of Nantes. Christine and Gérard lived for many years in Paris, but yearned for a quieter life. They honed their choice of the ideal place to live to somewhere near Nantes and eventually found the perfect house—La Mozardière. Just what they had been dreaming of! Gérard says they still wake up each morning loving their new way of life and the beauty of their surroundings. It is no wonder they are so happy here: you will be too. Just behind the home is a lovely garden stretching out to a romantic small lake, with many very old shade trees and well-kept flowerbeds enhancing the scene. There are just two guestrooms: the “green” room on the ground floor and the “blue” room upstairs. My favorite is the green room, which has French doors leading directly to the garden. There is nothing fancy or ostentatious about La Mozardière: it is simple, pretty, and exudes the warmth of a private home. Christine and Gérard are gracious hosts. Christine occasionally offers dinner, but she also has a second career as a potter and makes wonderful, whimsical ceramic ware (which you will see for sale as you enter) in a kiln in the old barn.

We recently returned from a two-week vacation in France; our second trip France in two years exploring areas we had not visited previously. This trip was Janey’s fifteenth visit to Paris. Both years we used the France B&B book to make reservations. This year we stayed at la Mozardiere in Lege. Christine and Gerard Desbrosses are very gracious hosts in their beautiful home.
