15 Grand Rue

This tranquil haven is a true discovery. The moment you are greeted by the lovely owner Abi Turner and welcomed into her lush oasis of a courtyard you know you have arrived somewhere special. The rooms are decorated with flair and imagination whilst keeping the french flavour throughout the house. We stayed in suite 2 which is in true shabby chateau chic, light, airy and oh so comfortable. Taking our glasses of complimentary wine (the mini bar is kitted out with complimentary bottle of wine, water and yummy nibbles) onto our private terrace we immediately felt relaxed and cossetted! Breakfast was served in the shady courtyard, a daily breakfast special, home made by Abi is augmented with fresh breads, fresh fruit, cereal and juice and often some delectable homemade naughtiness is also offered and too tempting to refuse. The location of 15 Grand Rue is perfect as we went off each day to a new town or village to discover, our itinerary included Carcasonne, Canal du Midi, Millau Bridge/Tarn Gorge, Montpellier, Perpignan and one day on the beach - all within easy driving distances, so after a fun day exploring this wonderful part of south of france it was always a joy to come back to our lovely suite and while away a couple of hours before heading off to Pezenas, just five minutes down the road, which is full of great places to eat. 15 Grand Rue is truly a remarkable find, but shhh with only 3 suites (2 more to be added for next year) don't tell everyone!
