La Montgonière

We think it is worth letting your potential customers know what an excellent place La Montgoniere is for a holiday in that area. The house is most interesting, lots of history goes with it and Elisabeth has fascinating stories of how she restored her family home to modernize it fully, yet to retain the historic, gracious living, decoration and atmosphere. The bedrooms and bathrooms are superb and there is the most marvelous family library on the top floor which guests are welcome to use. Breakfasts are delicious and so are evening meals at which Elisabeth uses different china every day which is always tastefully coordinated with the glasses and other table ware. The garden is spacious with statues, flower beds, clipped hedges and fruit trees and is a wonderfully quiet place in which to relax. The area is particularly scenic with forest covered hills and important rivers, very quiet roads and many places of interest to visit. There is a huge, impressive American war cemetery quite close by and the main town of Charleville-Mesieres is well worth a visit. We have been to stay at this most welcoming house on six or seven occasions and each time we go there is something new to see and future projects are being planned. We are delighted to pass on to others the joys of the Gentilhommiere that is La Montgoniere.
