Château des Ormeaux

My wife and I just spent 3 weeks in France and wanted to share our experience with you again.
In the Loire we stayed @ Chateau des Ormeaux with Eric, Emmanuel, and Dominque. What a FIND! Wonderful hospitality and what a dinner Eric prepared for us one evening!!

This place is terrific! It is beautiful inside and out (and it is clean and non-smoking). The owners/staff are very helpful and create a warm welcome. Our family of 4 reserved the 2 room suite (Debussy and Ravel) for a stay in the middle of our France vacation. It is ideally located for touring the Loire river valley. As soon as we arrived we knew we were going to love it . First we drove up the wooded lane to the chateau; once inside we climbed the dramatic large staircase to the first floor and then the spiral staircase to the 2nd floor and our rooms. We were immediately delighted by the size and charm of both rooms, especially by the bathroom in the Debussy room. It was very generously sized, especially for France! There were two sinks and enough floor space that bathroom alone was as large as some of our other hotel rooms. The facilities and appliances were very new and clean, yet fit in with the decor. The bedrooms too were generous with floor space and charmingly decorated. The beds were large and comfortable; there was plenty of closet and drawer space. Breakfast each morning in the large and airy dining room included a selection of jams made on the premises, fresh and delicious croissants, french bread, homemade applesauce, a selection of fruit, cereal and milk, dried fruits, nuts, cake and hot chocolate, fresh juice, coffee or tea. The public rooms were beautifully decorated (dining room and living room) and there is a room full of information on local restaurants and places to visit along with a computer for guests to use for internet access. Wireless internet access is available in the rooms too, although it was spotty in the Debussy room, access was good in the Ravel room. Staying at this chateau created a little island of luxury in our vacation - quiet, beautiful and extremely comfortable.
