La Bihourderie

La Bihourderie was once home to the Bohor, who trained the knights at jousting tournaments during the Middle Ages. La Bihourderie is a long, low farmhouse draped in ivy and full of character. White shuttered windows peek out from this picturesque one-story home, further enhanced by a very steep roof which is prettily accented by gabled windows. La Bihourderie is a family home and is extremely appealing. The tidy front courtyard abounds with beautifully tended, colorful flower gardens. There is a separate section of the house with a private parlor just for guests, off which you find the five bedrooms, named after works of art by Van Gogh. Les Iris is attractively decorated with fabrics blending with the framed copy of Van Gogh’s painting of the iris and Les Blés Jaunes has clever touches of tied wheat bunches. When the days are warm, breakfast is served at tables set outside on the lawn behind the house, so wonderfully close to the fields. Crops alternate with each year from wheat to sunflowers.
