We’re absolutely delighted we discovered La Girarde. The location couldn’t be better: easily reached from Bordeaux (we flew to there) and Bergerac, but amazingly peaceful and great for countryside walks (and close to St. Emilion for wine fans). Mark and Trish are perfect hosts. They’ve done a fantastic job of restoring the farmhouse. The rooms are gorgeous! We chose to eat in every night, and were so glad we did so – great cooking, with fresh local produce.

Recently spent a great weekend at La Girarde in the Gironde area of France. We first found the property on this site and it turned out to perfectly suit our needs. We were travelling from Sarlat to Bordeaux and wanted a relaxing stay in between. The owners have done a masterful job of renovating the stone house, and have tastefully furnished each of the four rooms. We ate there each evening and enjoyed gourmet meals, beautifully presented.
