Chateau Carbonneau

We stayed at Chateau Carbonneau and had a wonderful relaxing time. The chateau is set in the beautiful surrounds of a french vineyard and farm. Very easy to find about 30 minutes drive from Bergerac where we picked up a hire car. Jacquie and Wilfrid Franc de Ferriere are fabulous welcoming hosts who speak perfect English and helped us in every way we needed. We have two small children and they had a great time running around the large grounds and terrace, there was even a swing and slide for them. We will definitely return in summer so they can use the pool too. The rooms are large, beautifully decorated with modern ensuite bathrooms. We sampled plenty of their wine and had dinner there too. Better than going to a restaurant as we could put the children to bed upstairs first! My mother and her friend also enjoyed a bit of peace and quiet as there are plenty of places for them to retreat and have a quiet place to read or take a walk to the nearest village [Gensac].
