Domaine des Faures

We stayed with Ray and Jacinta in June 2009 for a wonderful few days in their newly renovated Provencal style manor house. Apart from being very accessible (30 mins from Bergerac airport) it happens to be in an exceptionally beautiful location. The house is of a much higher standard then many others we have been to, as you can see from the web site (and the photos really do give a good idea of the place). The house is in the middle of a secluded private estate with organic farm around, garden and swimming pool. Ray will point out the walks and make sure you do the one to the nearby Chateau Biron which is great. It also happens to be near 2 of our favourite Bastide towns - Eymet and Montpazier. When we say near, you get the best of both worlds - about 5 miles from civilisation but still very quiet and relaxed. Although we didn't take advantage of the activities (cycles, wine tours etc.) available there seemed plenty to do, and you could not ask for better hosts than Ray and Jacinta. J&G August 2009
