Sevenford House

Rosedale Abbey nestles in a sheltered green valley below the gently rolling moorland. High above the village lies Thorgill, a few houses strung out along a narrow road just beneath the moor. Here you find Sevenford House, a large residence built at the turn of the century for the vicar of the village church, and now home to Linda, Ian and their family. The three large bedrooms have excellent views, are delightfully furnished and decorated and each has a snug en suite shower room. Enjoy a welcoming cup of tea and a chat in the lovely drawing room and browse through the books that highlight the many things to do in this lovely part of Yorkshire. Ride a steam train on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, visit the vast array of stately homes, explore the lovely villages nestled beneath the moor, and visit the coastside towns of Whitby, Runswick Bay, and Robin Hood’s Bay. Should you want to stay for a week you can do no better than the three-bedroom cottage in the adjacent stables. There’s no shortage of good pubs and cafes close at hand. Just above the house you can follow the path of an old railway line that takes you on a spectacular four-hour walk.
