Nonsuch House

No need to request a room with a view at Nonsuch House. Every room offers a spectacular panorama of the sheltered harbor of Dartmouth with its castle, houses stepped down the wooded hillside to the river, and yachts tugging at their moorings. After a day of sightseeing, enjoy tea by the fire, in the plant-filled conservatory or on the terrace on warm days. Enjoy the same spectacular views of the activity in the harbor as you enjoy a three course evening meal—Kit posts the menu on the board and offers a choice in each of the three courses (not Tue, Wed or Sat). You are welcome to bring a bottle of wine to accompany your meal. Bedrooms, which come with a choice of queen, king, or twin beds, are absolutely delightful and each is accompanied by an immaculate modern bathroom. Fun daytrips include: taking a ferry up to Totnes, taking a steam train to Paignton, visiting the nearby Coleton Fishacre gardens (of D’Oyley Carte fame), and exploring Greenway (of Agatha Christie fame). You can make a day trip to the Eden Project or stick close to home walking the coastal path or taking the ferry to Dartmouth for dinner on the nights that Kit does not cook.
