Karen's Review Of This Property:
We found Lizzie Newton weeding a flowerbed in her prize-winning garden, which looks out over peaceful fields. The same combination of care and flair that Lizzie displays in her garden she applies to her delightful thatched cottage where she welcomes guests. The comfortable twin-bedded guest bedroom is bright and cheery and accompanied by an en suite shower room. In the evening guests are welcome to join Lizzie in her comfortable sitting room. Breakfast is the only meal served here and while you can walk across the fields to the Charlton Cat, there are lots of delightful pubs within easy driving distance. Just up the road is the picturesque village of Pewsey. Less than a half-hour drive finds you wandering amongst the ancient stones of Avebury and Stonehenge, wondering why Bronze Age man spent what has been estimated at millions of manhours constructing such temples. Another local phenomenon is crop circles, mysterious, elaborate patterns that appear overnight in crop fields. Much more down-to-earth are Georgian Bath, Salisbury with its exquisite cathedral, and the handsome town of Marlborough with its Georgian buildings and little alleys of old timbered cottages.
