Karen's Review Of This Property:
Magnolia House, a lovely Georgian home converted into the most welcoming of guesthouses, sits on a quiet street just a ten-minute walk from the heart of Canterbury. A small parlor is stacked with information not only on Canterbury but the surrounding area—you can easily keep busy for a week. Delightful guestrooms are found upstairs in the house ranging in size from a snug single to lovely double-bedded room, but the gem is the Garden Room with its private garden entrance, four-poster queen-sized bed, and the most spacious of bathrooms. In summer, breakfast is the only meal served; but on gloomy winter evenings very often guests do not want to venture out, so with prior arrangement supper can be provided. Canterbury is a lively historical city easily explored on foot. Its primary attraction is its cathedral, the Mother Church for all Anglicans. Begun in 1070, it became a pilgrimage site after the murder of Thomas à Becket. Join Chaucer’s famous pilgrims in a 20th-century re-enactment of the “Canterbury Tales” at the Canterbury Tales Museum in town.
