Karen's Review Of This Property:
Callander is such an attractive, busy, little place. I selected Brook Linn for being the most welcoming of bed and breakfasts and its lovely location high above the town. Built as a private home for a wealthy wool merchant, this solid Victorian home is set high on the hill well away from the bustle of the town but close enough for a ten-minute walk to find you at its heart. A hearty Scottish breakfast is the only meal served but Fiona and Derek are happy to recommend local restaurants that you can walk to and an outstanding fish restaurant a short drive away. The old pine doors and stained glass window on the staircase are most attractive period features. I particularly like rooms four and two—rooms large enough to have a seating area by the window so you can sit and drink in the splendid view of the distant Trossachs. Handily these two rooms also sport larger bathrooms with showers over the tub. With two twin, one double, and one single room, Derek and Fiona can accommodate most combinations of travelers. The Trossachs with their rolling pasture and heather moors, mountains, and glens are on your doorstep. The Wallace Monument Museum and Stirling Castle are just a short drive away.
