Casa Luna Quebrada
A Karen Brown New Discovery

Karen's Review Of This Property:
As is typical of many buildings in Colonial Mexican towns, an inconspicuous door leads directly from the street into the building. However, once you step inside a totally different world awaits you: the romance of Old Mexico with lush gardens, arcaded walkways, patios, fountains, and cozy shaded nooks. Casa Luna Quebrada is the second B&B in San Miguel de Allende that the clever American-born owner, Dianne Kushner, has created. Her original property, named Casa Luna Pila Seca, is located just two blocks away. Both 18th-century restored mansions exude a happy, relaxed, colorful personality and are decorated with a whimsical Mexican charm. Because it is newer and smaller, the sister property, located on Quebrada Street, is our choice. Each of the twelve guestrooms is decorated in a theme to match its name (such as Tree Tops and Sunset Room) and each has a fireplace and two beds that can be used as twins or converted into one king-sized bed. The mansion abounds with antiques and has thick adobe walls, many of which are painted with richly-hued colors. Beam ceilings, hand-loomed fabrics, carved chests, pretty mirrors, and fanciful Mexican artifacts displayed throughout add to the cozy ambiance. However, it is the staff that makes Casa Luna exceptionally outstanding. Guests rave about the personal attention they receive here.
