Karen's Review Of This Property:
Delightful Verona, with its Romeo and Juliet theme, is decidedly one of Italy’s more romantic historic cities and the Domus Nova B&B well matches this magical aura. The distinguished 13th-century gray-white palazzo, renovated in the 16th century, fills one entire side of the ancient square where a statue honoring Dante stands. Guests pass through the enormous center archway, enter by a small side door, and take a little elevator to the top floor where three double bedrooms are found within two apartments. As with a private apartment, you use your own key to enter the attractive drawing room, off which two of the bedrooms are situated and where an elegant breakfast is served complete with silver service and porcelain china. The warm decor of these rooms, all looking out over the splendid square and distant hills through large windows, radiates charm and impeccable taste. Soft, muted tones and stenciled patterns on walls have been taken directly from themes found in the surrounding medieval and baroque buildings. The third room, a double twin, has a balcony looking onto the lively Piazza Erba and its daily market. The spacious rooms are appointed with antiques, Oriental carpets, and fine linens and have lovely marble bathrooms. All these exquisite touches combined with gracious hospitality offer guests an intimate and memorable stay.
