Having made the decision to return to her native Italy after years in Venezuela, Liria elected to do it in style. She bought a 200-acre estate in the virgin hills north of Orvieto and set about restoring the four abandoned stone houses which once made up a farmer’s village. Her natural flare for integrating soft muted color tones, gorgeous French fabrics and selected antiques has resulted in a refined and romantic country ambiance throughout. The five spacious bedrooms with canopy beds in the main house are tastefully appointed and harmonize well with handmade terracotta brick floors and original stone walls so typical of an Umbrian home. Two 2-bedroom apartments are found in an adjacent house complete with kitchenette and living room for longer stays. Alternatively you could rent an entire two-story house with three bedrooms. Sweeping valley views over soft green hills are enjoyed from any position whether it be out in the lavender garden surrounding the curved swimming pool or on the main terrace where most meals are served. The farm produces organic olive oil, wine, grain, honey and fruits.

Directions: From the A1 autostrada exit at Fabro and turn right for Allerona. Pass through the town center of Fabro and continue for 5 km and fork left for Allerona Scalo. After 3.2 km turn right and stay to the right for the next two forks until you come to Monticchio.
