Karen's Review Of This Property:

The new owners of La Palazzina, Eliana and Silvano Mamprin, were both international hoteliers before falling head over heels in love with this beautiful property. The stately 18th-century hilltop villa surrounded by a lush garden is located in the enchanting Orcia valley with views over wheat fields and soft green hills fringed by cypress trees. This region is part of a Unesco World Heritage preservation area. Eleven guestrooms are appointed with country antiques, botanic prints, lace curtains and wrought iron beds set on check tiled floors. The elegant dining room has been renovated in Tuscan style and looks out to a formal garden and expansive lawns. During the summer months the outdoor terrace is a special spot for enjoying Eliana’s delectable Tuscan cuisine. A swimming pool hugs the side of the hill overlooking the surrounding countryside. Cooking courses and wine and olive oil tastings are offered as well as trips to the nearby hot springs and spa at San Casciano. This southeast corner of Tuscany offers a rich variety of sites to explore, including the Amiata Mountains, the Abbey of Sant’Antimo and the hilltowns of Montepulciano, Pienza, and Montalcino.

Directions: From Florence on the A1 autostrada, exit at Chiusi and drive towards Sarteano on route 478, turning left for Radicofani. After 14 km turn left for Celle Sul Rigo then right at the sign for Fattoria La Palazzina.
