Podere Val delle Corti Sketch

Karen's Review Of This Property:

Both Radda and Greve are excellent bases from which to explore the scenic Chianti wine country with its regal castles and stone villages, in addition to Siena, Florence, and San Gimignano. Radda in particular offers a myriad of possibilities for accommodation, including many private homes with rooms or apartments. The Val delle Corti is the home and vineyard property of gracious hostess Eli Bianchi and her son Roberto where they produce a high-quality Chianti Classico wine. The cozy pale-stone house with white shutters tops a hill overlooking the quaint town. The hosts, who moved here in 1974 from Milan, are extremely active in community affairs and are a superb source for area information. The guest accommodation is a lovely separate little house called il Fienile (hay barn), simply appointed with family antiques and newer pieces, which has a large open kitchen and living space looking out to the vineyards, and two bedrooms and one bathroom on the first floor. Meals can be taken at one of the excellent restaurants right in nearby Radda.

We were extremely pleased by all aspects of our stay. The accommodations are in a wonderfully restored farm building. They are bright, cheerful, comfortable and charming. In furnishing and equipping the house the Bianchis thought of everything and the kitchen was a dream. Our hosts were wonderful, we became friends quickly and were sorry to leave. The location, about half a mile from Radda is extremely convenient to all sorts of locations in Tuscany and we had to resist the temptation to stay at home. The Bianchi’s produce a lovely Chianti Classico on the property. Unfortunately it is not exported to the U.S. so the only way to get more is to go back. We’d love to start packing at once!
