Karen's Review Of This Property:
In the past few years, a new breed of bed and breakfasts has developed in Italy’s favorite cities, especially in Florence and Rome. A small staff is on hand which makes this an appropriate choice for the independent traveler who enjoys good value for money. It is like having your own home in Florence with keys to the front door. Hostess Lea Gulmanelli had such success with her first three bed and breakfasts (Johanna I and II, Johlea) that she opened one additional place at a superior level, Antica Dimora Johlea, in the same neighborhood. The six bedrooms with four-poster-beds are very cozily appointed in muted soft colors, with beautiful fabrics, Oriental carpets, paintings by the owner, and original tiled or parquet floors. Lea has a real flair for decorating and, as in someone’s home, each well-proportioned bedroom retains its own character. There is someone on duty all day (8:30am-8pm) to assist guests with their needs. A rich breakfast is set up in the tastefully decorated breakfast room. During the summer season guests may have breakfast on the delightful flower-potted terrace which offers dreamy views over Florence’s rooftops and the Cupola of the Duomo. The guests have free internet service, television, DVD plus other amenities. This property offers very tasteful accommodation and excellent quality and value.
