Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Limoneto with its family-style hospitality, excellent authentic country meals, simple but comfortable accommodations, and proximity to fascinating Siracusa is an "old favorite" of readers. At just 10 kilometers from the historical center of Siracusa with its Greek and Roman influences, the orange- and olive-grove farm is a perfectly delightful, safe, and economical base from which to explore Sicily’s southeastern corner. Adelina, Alceste, and son, Francesco, make guests part of their family. Guestrooms are split between the refurbished barn and part of the main house, all with individual entrances from the exterior. Air-conditioned rooms, some for up to four persons, are new, with pleasant modern decor and spotless bathrooms. Dinner is served in the spacious veranda dining room where locals come for a Sunday meal, overlooking the vast citrus groves. You are welcome into Adelina’s kitchen to observe and participate in the making of typical regional meals. The warmth exudes and when the evening is just right and the limoncello flowing, she might even read some poetry. Truly unique is the boat tour on the Ciane river among the Papiro trees of Egyptian origin.
