Karen's Review Of This Property:
Casa Talia, a special property full of character and charm, reflects the careful restoration work of Marco and Viviana. Located on a hillside within a maze of ancient houses, the property was once a group of shepherd’s cottages that have been transformed into enchanting guesthouses. With an environmentally sensitive philosophy, local building techniques and materials including stone, painted ceramic tiles, brick and wood were used to create an intimate and appealing ambiance. Full bathrooms with a designer’s touch compliment each of the four simple rooms, reflecting the intense colors of Sicily. The rooms open onto small Mediterranean gardens, dotted with cactus, palm, olive and fig trees. Guests take in spectacular views of Modica, an intriguing city, including the imposing church of St. Giorgio. A full breakfast of homemade cakes and jams is served in another house. The house’s living room has a wall of windows that opens up to the same fabulous view enjoyed from the cottages. As Casa Talìa’s brochure states, “slow living” is a lifestyle choice and this is certainly the right place to just live in the moment.
