Karen's Review Of This Property:
Villa Rosa opened its doors six years ago after restoration work by local couple, Virginia and Franco, who own a clothing store, ceramic store and Cafe Positano which has a breathtaking view of Positano. The 150-year-old villa, built into the cliffside and hidden behind bougainvillea vines high above the road right in town, is on three levels. Taking the stairs up to the first level, you find the reception area where guests are greeted. The twelve bedrooms vary in size from small to a spacious king-bedded room with a terrace and a suite with a separate living room. All the rooms have access to the large front terraces which are divided by plants and grapevine-covered pergolas for privacy. Picturesque views of Positano’s colorful houses and the spectacular coastline are enjoyed from any point. Breakfast is served either in rooms or out on individual terraces adorned with large terracotta vases laden with cascading pink and red geraniums, in sharp contrast to pure white walls. Bedrooms maintain original tiles and vaulted ceilings and are furnished with simple antiques, while bathrooms display typical yellow and blue hand-painted tiles from Vietri. Air conditioning is available. Easy day trips include Amalfi, Ravello, and the ruins of Pompeii, Paestum, or Herculum.
