Palazzo Personé Sketch

Karen's Review Of This Property:

A highlight of your visit to the intriguing Apulia region is without a doubt the city of Lecce, known as the “Florence of the Baroque period” for its many well preserved examples of Leccese Baroque. Besides the splendid churches with ornately sculpted facades, Lecce’s pedestrian-only center has a magnificent open piazza with cathedral, Roman amphitheater and ancient university giving it a youthful air. Placed in the square of the stunning Basilica Santa Croce is the Palazzo Personé, a refreshingly stylish accommodation within a historic building. Dynamic and creative owner Stefano Ramponi’s intentions are clear: kind hospitality and personalized service within a historic home that has a contemporary touch of interior design. From the street you enter the large double doors to an inviting inner courtyard with tables adjacent the lounge bar, open all day and serving breakfast, light lunch and appetizers. Each of the four suites vary in shape and size and have been given a clean and attractive look with the combination of white against the sand-colored stone walls. The effect has enhanced the original architectural features, including stone arches, fireplace, columns (of the ex-synagogue), stone wheel (olive oil mill), wood rafters and ancient wood doors. At just 11 km from the sea, and in center Apulia, easy day trips to the southern Salento area are possible.
