Karen's Review Of This Property:
Ardeen country house is situated in the heritage town of Ramelton overlooking the River Lennon. This Victorian house gives you a homey relaxed feeling the moment you walk through the front door. Ardeen is the onetime home of Nurse Black who was the private nurse to King George V. The book King’s Nurse, Beggar’s Nurse tells her story. Anne and Bert Campbell have been welcoming guests into their lovely home for many years. Anne enjoys baking and will spoil you with afternoon tea and home made scones as soon as you arrive. Breakfast is served around the beautiful antique dining table and includes fresh fruits, home made brown bread and scones as well as the traditional Irish breakfast. The bedrooms are all very nicely furnished and individually decorated and in keeping with the house. Four are en suite and a twin room enjoys a large private bathroom. The adjacent stable has been converted to a snug holiday cottage with an exposed stone living room, attractive kitchen and three bedrooms, one of which is en suite. Ardeen is an ideal base for exploring the Donegal coastline and visiting Glenveagh National Park and the Glebe Art Gallery with its fine collection of Irish paintings.
