Isolated by acres of fields and gardens, Belcamp Hutchinson is an oasis of country house elegance just 7 minutes` drive from Dublin airport. It is such an outstanding home and Doreen is such a gracious hostess that you will want to stay for several days and make this your base for Dublin and the surrounding area. On arrival you`ll doubtless be greeted by the dogs, Bullseye, and Dusty, who love to meet guests. A fire is lit in the drawing room in the evening; relax, help yourself to a drink from the honor bar and make yourself at home. There`s also a little TV room with "all" the channels—on the night I stayed guests were watching a sports match—however you also have a TV with local channels in your bedroom. Up the elegant staircase, spacious bedrooms are decorated in strong, dark, Georgian colors, each beautifully coordinated with lovely fabrics. Three further rooms are located atop the house with Gold being a particularly fun one. Large beds are the order of the day and there’s always candies and interesting magazines by the bedside. Breakfast is a real treat with ham, an array of cheeses, fruit, cereal and yogurt in addition to a cooked breakfast. Be sure to explore the walled garden—the maze is a fun challenge. Leave your car and take the bus for the 30-minute ride to the heart of Dublin.
