Karen's Review Of This Property:
La Grange de Jusalem is very special, intimate and charming. Travelers fortunate enough to stay will feel like guests in a private home. The drive up to the home is like a treasure hunt—you follow a series of discreet blue signs as the tiny lane winds through a sea of vineyards, ending at a pretty, 18th-century light-beige stone farmhouse with white trim and blue shutters built around a courtyard. There is no air of formality here at all: instead, it seems you are a friend of the family coming to visit. The five guestrooms, three of which were newly constructed for the 2003 season, are furnished with family antiques and have a personal, homelike ambiance. Another wonderful addition is a cozy reading/tea room just off the dining room where guests can settle and enjoy the surrounding views. Next to the house, bordered by endless vineyards, there is a delightful swimming pool. What makes this bed and breakfast so extraordinary is your hostess, Maryvonne. This pretty, gentle woman exudes such a genuine, unpretentious warmth that you will be captivated by her charm. Best of all, she is a gourmet chef and guests come to stay from far away to enjoy her fabulous home-cooked meals. In the summer, dinner is served by candlelight on the terrace with the vineyards almost at your fingertips.
